Job Details: ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of approved School of Nursing with a BSN or MSN or if you possess an
ADN, you must also possess a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science,
Physiology or Kinesiology.
Currently licensed and in good standing with the State of Michigan Department of Licensure and Registration for Registered Nurse licensure.
Minimum of two years experience in Critical Care Nursing or Cardiac Nursing
Previous experience in outpatient Cardiac Rehab with comprehensive knowledge of Cardiac Rehabilitation in the acute and outpatient settings.
Strong teaching and cardiac assessment skills
Current BCLS and ACLS certification
Previous Enhanced External Counterpulsation experience desired
Current Clinical Exercise Specialist certification through the American College of Sports Medicine, Cardiovascular Nurse Certification through the American Nurses Association and/or the Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional certification through the AACVPR preferred upon hire. Certification is required within one year of hire.
Demonstrates ability in using the computer with Windows format
Proficient in EKG interpretation
Reports to the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Coordinator. The Coordinator is directly responsible to the Director of Cardiovascular Services.
Has a constant working relationship with other hospital staff as: Cardiovascular Service Line Staff, physicians, social workers, dieticians and pharmacists
Supervises Exercise Specialist student interns, Exercise Specialist and Exercise Physiologist
Interacts with patients and family members at an inpatient, outpatient and community level.
